Breast reconstruction is a surgical treatment used to restore a breast’s shape and contour after a mastectomy or severe breast tissue loss due to trauma. By reproducing the appearance of a natural breast, this fascinating procedure attempts to help patients restore a sense of comfort and confidence.

Breast reconstruction can be divided into two types: implant-based reconstruction and autologous tissue reconstruction. Saline or silicone implants are used in the implant-based approach, which generally necessitates a multi-stage process involving tissue expanders. This process also can include nipple reconstruction, which means your surgeon creates a new nipple and areola.

Today, 1 in every 8 women is diagnosed with breast cancer which can result in mastectomy. Reconstruction after mastectomy is generally preferred.  Beating breast cancer can be a challenging journey that requires a lot of optimism and faith. MD. Burak Sercan is here for you !
